The First Post-War Months

This text and photo illustrating the first post-war months are part of the main exhibition "Traces of History: Neuengamme Concentration Camp 1938–1945 and its Post-War History". 2 May 1945 british soldiers arrived at the Neuengamme concentration camp to find it virtually abandoned. The photo shows two british soldiers delousing a young boy.
