Koffer Sara Goldfinger | Suitcase Sara Goldfinger

Short biography from the exhibition of the Bullenhuser Damm Memorial. Sara Goldfinger was one of the 20 Jewish children taken from the Auschwitz Concentration Camp to the Neuengamme Concentration Camp on 28 November 1944 and murdered at Bullenhuser Damm on 20 April 1945. Sara was 11 years old. For a long time, the identity of this child was unknown. In Hamburg, there were incomplete records of a girl murdered at Bullenhuser Damm whose name may have been “Surcis Goldinger”. In 2021, an Italian researcher discovered that the name of the girl known as Surcis Goldinger was actually Sara Goldfinger.
