Helge Hansen

Biography of Helge Hansen, born on 29 May 1922 in Tingsted, Denmark. Mechanic and businessman; arrested for resistance activities in Copenhagen in September 1944; imprisoned in the Vestre Fængsel prison in Copenhagen; deported to Neuengamme in January 1945; evacuated to Sweden via Denmark on 20 April 1945 on the Red Cross‘s White Buses; returned home in May 1945; joined the Danish association of former Neuengamme prisoners and later became its chairman.
