Sigurd Syversen

Biography of Sigurd Syversen, born 13 August 1921 in Vestre Aker, Norway. Engineer; arrested in 1942 for being active in the resistance; deported to Sachsenhausen concentration camp; transferred to the Scandinavians‘ camp at Neuengamme on 30 March 1945 in the course of the Bernadotte Rescue Operation; evacuated to Sweden via Denmark on the White Buses on 20 April 1945. After his return, Syversen resumed working for the Norwegian national radio network.
